On Friday night, YFN Lucci put on a memorable performance in the Ballroom at Warehouse Live. Fans came early, forming a line waiting to see the Atlanta rapper best known for his hits “Everyday We Lit,” “Heartless” and “Key to the Streets.” In typical Houston-rap style, the whole Rap-A-Lot Records mob was present, including appearances by local celebrities J Prince Jr. and Johnny Dang.

The show was set to start at 10 p.m., but it wasn’t until 11:30 p.m., after two openers, that YFN Lucci took to the stage. At this point the crowd was becoming restless, so it was a relief to hear Lucci’s DJ take over and watch the lights dip in preparation for the rapper’s appearance. The artist came out with a pack of security and friends to fill the stage. They were welcomed by screaming fans who eventually seemed to fill in the venue.

YFN Lucci started with a few slower songs such as “Time for It” and “All I Know.” The crowd seemed to know every word and kept up with the artist song after song. At one point, Lucci jumped off the stage into the photo pit and the crowd went wild as they fought to get as close as possible to the rapper. He moved back and forth in front of the crowd being grabbed and photographed by excited fans. Lucci performed a wide range of music stretching from his 2014 project “Wish Me Well” to his newest album, “Ray Ray from Summerhill,” released earlier this year. Occasionally, it seemed like the rapper got lost in his ridiculously large entourage that occupied the stage, but the crowd enjoyed the show and everyone rapped along to Lucci’s biggest hit “Everyday We Lit.”
