Stick ‘Em Up! director Alex Luster gives Houston sneak peek

TwitterFacebookTumblrEmailShare

We mentioned it on the blog a couple months ago but if you’ve forgotten, Stick ‘Em Up! is an upcoming documentary on the alternative art form of wheat pasting which is big in the Bayou City. Wheat paste artists will render a graphic in advance that they intend to post in some public place and use a strong bonding compound consisting mostly of wheat and water to fix their poster or graphic to a given spot. While it certainly adds color to the concrete jungle, wheatpasting, like graffiti, is risky and illegal. Film maker Alex Luster takes audiences inside the clandestine world of wheat pasting and is not afraid to get very involved.

Today at 12 p.m. Luster gave Houston a quick peek at the contents of the documentary even though it’s still in progress. Stay tuned for more news on this brilliant film. If you missed the event you can still see some trailer footage here.
