Man, there is a lot of stuff going down this week! (So, so, so much metal in one week, for example.) But given it’s Halloween week and the best part of Halloween is dressing up, this show easily wins hands-down for the most Halloweeny of shows this week. Reminiscent of the old Hootenanny’s at the Mink, this show will have some of your favorite local indie rock bands performing as various other bands. Some of them are pretty much no-brainers like Young Mammals doing The Pixies and The White Strips (Mlee Marie and Chris Cascio) doing The White Stripes but a few others kind of took me by surprise like The Moccasins doing 80’s Madonna (which should be brilliant) and the one that I find most intriguing LIMB doing Kate Bush (YEAYUSSSSSSS!!!).

By the way, if you wear a costume you get in for $5 and if you don’t, you pay $10. I’ve no problem with that set-up but personally, I think they should have a third tier for lame costumes where you pay $20 and get a punch in the face from the doorman. “I couldn’t think of anything so I just bought a referee shirt and a whistle. I’m a replacement ref!” PUNCH! That’ll be $20. “No way! Really? I’m like the 100th person in line to be dressed as PSY? Do I get a prize?” PUNCH! $20 smackers. “Hi, I’m Mitt Romney and I’d like your vote.” PUNCH! $20 please. Well you get the idea….
