Local Track of the Week: Creepy Bone

There are plenty of excellent bands in Houston but sometimes Austin has good local stuff too. Local, for the sake of this post, means Texas. Last night Austin band, Woven Bones, rocked a small crowd at Fitzgerald’s and my ears are still ringing. For a Tuesday night gig, the show was fantastically ferocious.

Woven Bones’ sound is reminiscent of the Jesus and Mary Chain during their louder days but is much catchier and more accessible. Though most of the songs are short-ish, the splash reverb and hypnotic drums beats make the punk length songs into something that can only be described as psychedelic.

One of their most dancy and fun tracks is called “Creepy Bone”, please give it a listen.
