FFW – The Free Press preview for May 5th - 11th (Part 1)

Guess what folks… I’m having some MS Word issues today and so I am just giving you Thursday’s stuff right now.  I’ll add in the rest of the week right here tomorrow.

Why?  Well, I normally start work on this the week before and then kind of tidy it up on my Thursday lunch break.  Unfortunately, MS Word has totally done some weird-ass formatting shit to the document I e-mailed myself and it took me forever to undo the weirdness done to just the Thursday stuff you see below.   So again, tune in tomorrow for the rest.   Here is some stuff going on tonight.

Thursday May 5th

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion/Boosy Cray @ Warehouse Live (Studio)–Right now I gotta tell ya about…the fabulous…most groovy…bellbottoms! Uh! Bellbottoms! UH! Yeah!

The Greenhornes, Jeff The Brotherhood @ Fitzgerald’s -You may know Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler from their other project The Raconteurs but this band (which preceded it) is pretty awesome too combining elements of garage, psych blues and R&B..

Mando Saenz, Clark Peterson @ Rudyard’ s– Nashville singer songwriter drops into his old hometown.

Chris Duarte @ Cactus Music (5:30PM)- Texas blues dude at Cactus.

Brett Dennen, Dawes @ Fitzgerald‘s -Pleasant Oakland California folkie.

Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion-Nobody can explain it but somehow Jimmy Buffett can fill the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and make out like a bandit every few years.  Seriosuly, what gives?
