Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year. It combines food, family, laughs, games and endless embarrassing photos with my dad behind the camera yelling ‘Just von more peekchair’! For those of you who have parents that speak without accents, ‘Just one more picture’! I try to be creative with my leftovers, but when it comes down to it, I am not that great in the kitchen and so I make a turkey sandwich with a huge glob of broccoli cheesy ricey (not the traditional name), which gets old. My tastebuds want Thanksgiving all over again, without the 6am prep.
Immersioncy. Experiential Marketing has put together an event that will benefit both The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art and your post Thanksgiving tastebuds. Local restaurants, Bar Boheme, Batanga, Beaver’s, Brooklyn Athletic Club, Cove, Eatsie Boys, El Big Bad, Goro & Gunn, l’Olivier, Latin Bites, Lowbrow, Mr Peeples, Phoenicia, Prego, Roost, Triniti, Uchi and Underbelly will lend their chefs who will create fabulous leftovers made up of at least 80% of fully-cooked traditional Thanksgiving dishes. Which means you will be able to re-create these dishes at home and bring back that holiday cheer. There will be two Golden Gobblers handed out one from the panel of judges and one from the crowd of hungry attendees. The panel of judges consist of media personalities from channels 11,13, 26 and 39 as well as The Houston Chronicle, Eater, Houstonia Magazine, CultureMap, Southbound Food, Houston Modern Luxury, The Houston Press, My Table Magazine, Texas Monthly and more.
Deep Eddy will host a free public cocktail lounge where they will be serving the best holiday drink I have ever tasted, The Rotterdam Falliday, served on the rocks. The recipes will be available on November 22, just early enough to get you salivating for some turkey and stuffing, if you weren’t already.
