Standing Room Only Productions invites you to join us for THE WHO’S TOMMY, the Tony Award-winning rock opera based on the The Who’s 1969 album that changed the music world forever.  Both rock and roll fans AND musical fans will enjoy this electrifying production written by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff.

In World War II, Captain Walker is parachutes into Germany and is captured and held in a prisoner of war camp.  Thinking him dead, his pregnant wife, Mrs. Walker, takes a lover.  After the war, Mr. Walker returns, discovers the pair together and kills his wife’s lover.  This trauma renders their young son Tommy deaf, dumb and blind.  As the Walkers search desperately for a cure, Tommy is abused by his Uncle Ernie, tortured by his Cousin Kevin, and is subjected to a dubious cure by The Gypsy Acid Queen.  Tommy becomes a wizard of the pinball machine and a pop icon.  But a shattered mirror shatters his dreams as he learns hard lessons about life, love and fame.  This remarkable stage version captures all the drama and excitement of the Who’s music, taking its audience on a surreal trip from cold reality to bizarre fantasy and back again.
