On Saturday, Jet Lounge is hosting an aptly named “End of an Era” party to celebrate just that: The end of Jet Lounge. Known for hosting shows ranging from techno and rock to hip-hop and punk — and even a surprise set by Flying Lotus following his appearance at Day For Night — the venue has been a mainstay of Houston’s downtown music scene for over a decade.

“The run at Jet has a been a good one,” says Ammar Hasan, general manager of Jet Lounge. “It’s unfortunate the property is no longer available to house Jet Lounge. Sure, it may be an end here at this location, but we do have plans to relocate.” Hasan noted that he is unable to disclose information about the new location at this time.

To celebrate the end of Jet Lounge as we know it, DJs will be playing techno and house from 4 pm all the way to 5 am as part of the venue’s final La Pista event. Hosted by Spettro and Bobby Blyss — who are also set to perform — the event’s impressive lineup includes Henry Chow, Joe Dismal, Pfaff, Marcus Starkist, Giovani, Pin Pon Guys and Bjorn Larsen.

“It will be a very special night for us,” says Hasan.

Food trucks will be on site (but have yet to be announced). Entry is $10, although there’s no cover before 10 pm.

La Pista - End of an Era Party takes place on Saturday at Jet Lounge (1515 Pease) from 4 pm to 5 am.
